Colin Dawes was an incredibly instructor! With his friendly approach, driving was stress-free and focused. Especially as the time got closer to the test, Colin was extremely supportive and constructive. He has taught both my sister and I, where we both passed our practical and theory tests first time with very little minors. I would recommend Colin to anyone who is ready to enjoy driving, in a relaxed environment in order to be focused, aware and calm on the roads, where you are given all the knowledge on driving and are able to problem solve.

Thank you to my brilliant instructor Colin for helping me pass my test! Arranging lessons with Colin was easy as he was very organised and quick to respond. The lessons themselves were well-paced and planned to help me learn and improve in the best way possible. I first started lessons with L plates driving school in 2015 and had around 20 hours of lessons with Colin Dawes, he teaches really well and is a extremely friendly instructor who will turn you into a fantastic driver. I stopped doing lessons because of personal problems but came back to him in may 2018 because I wanted to start learning again, On the first lesson back everything came back to me and colin made sure we covered everything for my test. I learnt to drive with Colin Dawes on the recommendation of both a friend and my partner. I was very nervous and had never driven before but Colin was very calming and encouraging right from the start. The lessons were well paced and concepts clearly explained. Colin was very patient whenever I needed more practice of certain skills and built my experience and confidence up. I did not get the opportunity to practice outside of lessons but managed to pass the driving test first time last month. I passed my driving test on the 2nd time! I would highly recommend Colin, he is very patient and organised! He is also a very good listener, I often told Colin what I wasn't confident in doing so we could practice that more. I have passed my test feeling confident to drive my baby around in the car and I feel that if I was ever in a situation I would know how to handle it. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my driving lesson process. It took me around year all in all to pass. However, I feel my experience was extremely satisfying. My instructor Colin always had a calming influence over me and was never at all flustered by anything. His ability to direct you honestly and openly about where you were at really allowed me to concentrate on constantly improving. This made the lessons a lot more purposeful and as such increased my driving skills. Also the ability to interact and have humorous conversations along the way only enhanced the whole process. I was taught by Colin and took my test in Tunbridge Wells. He was the best instructor I could have asked for. I was terrified at first, but he quickly helped me gain confidence and was a very calming influence. He never raised his voice when I did something wrong which is exactly what you need, and always reinforced the fact that mistakes were normal in order to learn and progress. Collin was always willing to answer any questions I had about driving, the test procedures, insurance or potential first cars too. As as naturally nervous person, I never thought I could be taught to be a confident driver, but that's exactly what Colin has helped me be! Learning to drive with L plates was the best decision I made. Colin is extremely hardworking and patient. He praises you when things go well and will never make you feel bad if you don't get something straight away. When I first began learning I was very nervous due to a previous experience. Colin made me feel at ease straight away and I can't recommend him enough. He will even go out of his way to cram in some extra lessons before you're test for those last minute doubts and nerves.
