I just couldn't remember the maneuvers and would get in a muddle. It didn't matter how many times Tina had to tell me I never felt that she was getting irritated with me and always put me at ease. It has been an absolute joy and pleasure to learn to drive with L Plates and most of all with my instructor Colin Dawes! For the past six months Colin has been my Jiminy Cricket and good conscience in the car - he was always kind, calm, patient and knowledgable. We worked through the L Plates handbook week by week, and the mock tests Colin put together were tailored to help me improve any flaws and increase my experience ready for the big test. By the time the test came around, I felt safe, calm and very prepared. The hardest part now is going to be driving solo without Colin, but with his help I now have the freedom and confidence to drive, the world is my oyster and I am exceptionally grateful! I am a very happy customer because as of yesterday I am a legal driver! I passed my test with ease which included no minor faults. I would say that I was only able to achieve this with the help from my instructor Frank Judah, who was nothing but great from day one! We took the L Plates handbook which included all the driving drills and manoeuvres - which we did step by step each week until I was confident enough to start taking mock tests to really improve my overall driving experience. Anything wrong I did on these mock tests we identified and improved leading up to the test, meaning on the day of the actual test I felt confident with everything I did - passing first time. My driving instructor Frank McClaren was what I expected from a driving instructor and more. He exceeded my expectations in every department. He was flexible with his lessons to work around my shift work, his knowledge and general instructing skills were a level above and to top it off he is a brilliant guy who makes you feel at ease from beginning to end. I had my instructor John Leeming for around 4 months from start to finish, I was a complete beginner who had never sat in the drivers seat before, but John helped me in just 4 months to pass my theory and practical tests 1st time. Before I began driving with L Plates I had been learning on and off for 3 years, and was low in confidence and very anxious at the thought of driving lessons. When I began my lessons with Tina and in an automatic it changed my driving experience! I felt so much more confidence and like I could drive anywhere, Tina trusted that I could do it so she never got too involved and simply let me get on with it. I had my driving lessons with Raj for approximately a year and I could not have asked for a better experience. Raj not only taught me how to pass my driving test but also how to be a safe driver afterwards. During my lessons with Raj he always remained calm, explained exactly what I did wrong and got me to do it right the next time around. If I didn't understand how to do a manoeuvre or made a mistake Raj would take out his iPad and find different ways to explain it until I really understood it and could do it on my own!. I contacted L-PLates having looked through multiple positive reviews of the firm and its instructors online. Their prices were also very competitive for the Brighton market. I was lucky enough to have Ray B. As my instructor. I have had some driving experience but not confident on the road. Immediately Ray assisted in putting me at ease behind the wheel giving me a lot of useful pointers and tips. My experience with this company and one of its instructors was one I won't forget as I have now gained my own licence. Although the it took me a year to drive I feel like my instructor (Frank MCLaren) was very very supportive throughout times when I was under stress. I experienced highs and lows with learning how to drive as I feel most individuals do but, Frank supported me and gave me the reassurance that I was heading in the right direction to gain my licence. This is why I rated the service very high. Money wise I personally found it reasonable as I was paying myself however I do feel paying in instalments would have been easier for example: £100 up front for a few lessons then knowing you were covered for the next few lessons. Overall the quality I thought was fantastic and am throughly glad I chose to learn and had the pleasure to learn with L plates and their instructor Frank. Emily. Hailsham.

I had a really brilliant experience with my driving instructor ray. I saw a huge amount of improvement in a short amount of time and my confidence was growing every lesson. Ray would go the extra mile for students, he would explain things in many ways instead of just explaining. He would sometimes even show you with a little toy car which really helped! He also explained things using his iPad where there were videos and imagery that also really helped. Ray obviously takes time to think about how everyone learns differently and how he can get through to every type of learner and give them the best teaching experience. Another thing that really helped me was how calm ray would be when I made mistakes. He would always just say leave it behind you and carry on your a good driver. Lastly what I found really helpful with l plates is the book we are given to help us keep track of our success. When ray would go through this with me it really helped me understand where I was with my driving and how long before I was ready to do a test. Ray would go through the book with me and show me what I had achieved so far. Overall I had a lovely experience and I would definitely reccomend Ray to anyone wanting driving lessons, in fact I've already given his number out twice!! Thankyou for helping me pass. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my driving lesson process. It took me around year all in all to pass. However, I feel my experience was extremely satisfying. My instructor Colin always had a calming influence over me and was never at all flustered by anything. His ability to direct you honestly and openly about where you were at really allowed me to concentrate on constantly improving. This made the lessons a lot more purposeful and as such increased my driving skills. Also the ability to interact and have humorous conversations along the way only enhanced the whole process.
