A consistently calm coach and overall nice guy! Colin Dawes is a fantastic instructor and I would recommend him to anyone. Colin regardless of the circumstances made you feel immediately at ease and was great at diverting stress away from the lessons. By the end of first lesson Colin had designed a comprehensive, tailoured plan of action that was personally suited to my needs approaching my practical. I loved learning to drive with Giles Blanch. I would 100% recommend him as I felt that his teaching methods were very simple and I managed to pick up techniques quicker than before. He never lost his calm temperament and had a very optimistic and positive attitude in my driving abilities. He would instantly flag up areas of concern and look to rectify those, which showed his attentiveness to my driving. I was impressed at how easily he helped me understand how to do particular manoeuvres. This was my third time learning to drive. Previously I had become bored or didn't get on with my instructors. L Plates however is another league. I have enjoyed every lesson! I passed my test in a month with Frank McLaren as my instructor who always left me brimming with confidence when he dropped me off. Frank Judah was an amazing teacher. I was one who was initially afraid of turning corners, but by the end, I was able to confidently pass my test! He was a very patient teacher - able to push me out of my comfort zone, but not go over the edge. He always had a witty joke to calm my nerves, and useful information to aid my knowledge. I just want to say a massive thank you to Frank Judah for helping me recently pass my driving test at the first attempt. As someone who took his first series of driving lessons 15 years ago and tried again 10 years later I was really starting to doubt whether I'd ever be able to do it. A friend of mine had recently started to learn with Frank and he gave such a good recommendation to me that I thought I'd give it one more go. Franks style of teaching really suited me, he would always encourage me to progress when I was ready to and would ask what I would want to do during any particular lesson, Frank also showed great patience with my incessant questions!! I found the progress charts within the L-Plates booklet very useful as well as it really helps you track your progress from lesson to lesson. When the big day came the nerves had really gotten hold of me, Frank helped calm me down and provided all the encouragement I needed. Following the test I was over the moon when the examiner told me the good news, to come away with no faults as well was just the icing on the cake. He is patient and allows you as the learner to keep going until you are driving both efficiently and safely and so you can complete a manoeuvre perfectly. From the very first lesson, my instructor John Mell was professional, but friendly. Ensuring that I could always ask questions. He was always patient, especially when I asked the same things twice! 

John was fantastic at making me feel confident to move onto the next part of my learning, but never rushed me, ensuring we spent enough time on each part, but also encouraging me to move forward and improve my knowledge and road experience. 

After my first lesson I felt at ease, and I was sure John was the right instructor to help me pass. I would throughly recommend him, as after 2 other driving instructors, I should know!

Colin Dawes was such a great instructor. Having already had quite a bit practise, he gave me the opportunity to drive freely while giving me clear instructions of how to do manoeuvres and giving me great help leading up to the exam and practical. I couldn't be happier with his positive attitude to driving which helped me relax and ultimately allowed me to feel completely comfortable behind the wheel!

I also found it hugely helpful having the free theory website to revise from before the test!

One of the first things I said to Giles was "I have to pass my test by September." That gave him about two months to get me up to standard. Having driven before wasn't much help to him as, after a two year break between lessons, I sat in the car on our first lesson and stared blankly at him.

Giles rose to the challenge wonderfully. It takes some patience to deal with a frustrated me! He knew exactly what I needed and adapted his teaching method to suit me perfectly. His easy humour and friendly, relaxed demeanour made me feel completely comfortable in my lessons with him. Despite my insistent reservations, I passed my test under his tutelage. With just 20 hours, he succeeded where a previous year of lessons had failed. Giles Blanch was an excellent driving instructor who taught me efficiently and helped me pass my test first time. He was always punctual and on time for my lessons and when on the odd occasion when he was delayed he would ring me to inform me. I heard about Frank Judah and L Plates driving school through recommendation from a friend, and I have and will continue to also recommend Frank to as many friends as possible, as he was superb. I really appreciated his calm and enjoyable approach, whilst also explaining knowledge and instructions in a very clear and concise manner. If I ever had any questions or queries, he was very quick to answer them precisely and would go over it as many times as possible, in order to make to me feel secure in what I was doing. I would like to say a massive thank you to Frank Judah for being my driving instructor over the past 7 months. Learning to drive with L Plates Driving School has been an incredibly enjoyable and satisfying experience! Starting to drive was quite a daunting and nerve racking prospect for me, but as soon as I got in the car on my first lesson, Frank made me feel relaxed and welcome, and as the weeks went on, I really started to look forward to my driving lessons. Frank was very patient with me, making sure I went over things enough until I was happy and confident enough to do them on my own. He helped me progress steadily, not pushing me into anything I didn't feel comfortable with but encouraged me to move on when he thought I was ready! He often asked for my opinion about how I was driving instead of just telling me what I was doing eight and wrong which made me think deeper into how I was driving and feel it has made me a far safer driver as a result of it. Now that I have passed I am definitely considering taking the Pass Plus scheme with Frank to broaden my driving experience. I would definitely recommend Frank as a diving instructor, whether you want to pass quickly, or take your time over learning, as he is patient and will move at the pace you wish to set. I was also very impressed by his flexibility when it came to the timing of my lessons, as I often had to change times or cancel. He was always perfectly happy to change times to fit my schedule which made booking driving lessons far less stressful! 'Wow!! What can I say, my driving experience has been a bumpy one with lots of stalling and hill starts but I got there in the end. Me and Gareth had our ups and downs with plenty of banter!!! But after about a year I managed to get my well deserved pass with only TWO minors!!! Gareth stuck by me and was a great support the whole time, always willing to answer any questions I had while on the road, he never gave up and was determined to make sure I passed before the summer. When I began driving I didnt find it as natural as I first thought I would, having being in a number of car crashes in the past I soon found myself hitting a bit of a mental block and wanting to give up altogether. I started my driving lessons in June 2012 with Mark Napier. I started off as a very nervous pupil but in to time Mark had me feeling at ease and with this, my confidence grew and grew. Mark is an extremely patient instructor and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. Not only is Mark a fantastic instructor, he is a great guy too and found I got on with him very well. I actually miss my lessons now I have passed and in the near future, I will be calling Mark to teach me how to drive a manual! It took just 9 months for Mark to teach me how to drive, and passing my test was an amazing feeling!
