To be honest, this was the last chance saloon. Having taken driving lessons twice before, I was giving it one more go before I threw the towel in. Issues with reversing round corners and a complete lack of spacial awareness, I thought my new driving instructor wouldn't have a hope in hell of getting me through a test. But Ray Brewster of L Plates did. 

Thanks to his patience, humour and dogged determination to get me to succeed I passed the test and they're now letting me on the road, ALONE. Ray was able to make the process fun and we even had an adventure together - avoiding a beautiful and enormous rutting deer that ran across the road in the front of the car on a country road!

Ray's professionalism helped me overcome my nervousness and though still nowhere near a perfect driver, his training will stand me in good stead for my first year of independent driving - at the grand old age of 48. Thanks Ray :o). Julie McNamee. Lewes.

It has been an absolute joy and pleasure to learn to drive with L Plates and most of all with my instructor Colin Dawes! For the past six months Colin has been my Jiminy Cricket and good conscience in the car - he was always kind, calm, patient and knowledgable. We worked through the L Plates handbook week by week, and the mock tests Colin put together were tailored to help me improve any flaws and increase my experience ready for the big test. By the time the test came around, I felt safe, calm and very prepared. I am a very happy customer because as of yesterday I am a legal driver! I passed my test with ease which included no minor faults. I would say that I was only able to achieve this with the help from my instructor Frank Judah, who was nothing but great from day one! We took the L Plates handbook which included all the driving drills and manoeuvres - which we did step by step each week until I was confident enough to start taking mock tests to really improve my overall driving experience. Anything wrong I did on these mock tests we identified and improved leading up to the test, meaning on the day of the actual test I felt confident with everything I did - passing first time. Before I began driving with L Plates I had been learning on and off for 3 years, and was low in confidence and very anxious at the thought of driving lessons. I had my driving lessons with Raj for approximately a year and I could not have asked for a better experience. Raj not only taught me how to pass my driving test but also how to be a safe driver afterwards. During my lessons with Raj he always remained calm, explained exactly what I did wrong and got me to do it right the next time around. If I didn't understand how to do a manoeuvre or made a mistake Raj would take out his iPad and find different ways to explain it until I really understood it and could do it on my own!. Their prices were also very competitive for the Brighton market.  I was lucky enough to have Ray B. As my instructor. I have had some driving experience but not confident on the road. My experience with this company and one of its instructors was one I won't forget as I have now gained my own licence. Although the it took me a year to drive I feel like my instructor (Frank MCLaren) was very very supportive throughout times when I was under stress. I experienced highs and lows with learning how to drive as I feel most individuals do but, Frank supported me and gave me the reassurance that I was heading in the right direction to gain my licence. This is why I rated the service very high. Money wise I personally found it reasonable as I was paying myself however I do feel paying in instalments would have been easier for example: £100 up front for a few lessons then knowing you were covered for the next few lessons.
